East African Portland Cement (EAPC) recently opened Pit 2 at its Limestone Quarry in Kibini, Kajiado East. The Pit, from which the company expects to mine at least 2,000 tonnes of Limestone per day, is closer to the Crusher and will help to reduce the Cycle Time by 50%.

“This means that we will have more Limestone of higher quality to ensure that we avail your favorite Cement Brands and Products to you continuously and consistently,” said EAPC.

In 2021 EAPC rolled out an ambitious five-year business modernisation and expansion cycle in a bid to turn the giant cement plant into profitability.

The Athi River-based cement processor began the year on a high, producing its own clinker, the main material used to grind cement, following a replacement on part of its kiln shell that had been dilapidated for years causing cuts on production.
