The Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) is preparing for this year’s AAK Dura Coat Awards of Excellence in Architecture that will be held on 27 February 2026.
The awards recognise architectural work that demonstrates excellence in design, innovation, professionalism and positive impact on communities and landscapes. The programme, supported by AAK and lead sponsors Basco Paints under the Dura Coat brand, seeks to promote a culture of architectural excellence and set benchmarks for quality and creativity in Kenya’s dynamic construction sector.
Eligible entries typically include completed projects from across Kenya and the East African region, built within the last five years by architects registered with professional bodies such as the Architectural Association of Kenya, the Rwanda Institute of Architects, the Uganda Society of Architects, and the Architects Association of Tanzania.
Over the years, the awards have spotlighted distinguished projects across categories, elevating the profile of outstanding practices and inspiring peers.
