Kenya’s luxury building finishes market has a new entrant following the launch of ABC Group’s Kenyan operations, bringing an extensive portfolio of international brands and building materials into a market experiencing continued demand for residential and commercial developments.
The launch marks the group’s entry into its ninth global market, with Nairobi serving as a strategic base for its East African expansion. ABC Group, which has 28 years of international experience, operates in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Its global operations include more than 90 showrooms, over 200 brands and a workforce exceeding 2,300 employees. Its product portfolio spans porcelain and ceramic tiles, sanitaryware, doors, windows and modular kitchens.
Speaking during the launch, ABC Group Founder and Chairman Muhammed Madani said the company intended to support the construction and home-making sectors beyond the supply of building products.
“ABC Group is built on relationships. We treat our clients as family and our customers as friends. We are not here just to make invoices; we are here to support the home-making sector, architects and designers for the next decade, which will be the golden period of construction in Kenya,” Madani said.
A key highlight of the launch was the unveiling of The Build Hub, an initiative established in partnership with the Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK). Located within ABC Hauz, the facility will provide architects, interior designers and quantity surveyors with shared workspaces, meeting rooms, boardrooms, internet access and technical resources.
AAK President George Arrabu said the initiative would contribute to professionalising the built environment by providing practitioners with access to resources and materials that support better project delivery.
“The solution to the built environment is professionalizing the sector. The Build Hub at ABC Hauz gives emerging and established designers a well-curated space to meet clients, access global material trends and ensure global product standards are matched with professional execution,” Arrabu said.
The initiative is also expected to extend beyond Nairobi, with AAK expressing ambitions to establish similar facilities in Mombasa, Kisumu and Nakuru.
ABC Group further outlined plans to establish assembly and manufacturing facilities in Kenya within the next three to five years, focusing on doors, windows, modular kitchens and customised furniture.
