Change of Guard: Florence Nyole Assumes AAK Presidency

After a gruelling campaign conducted among colleagues and on social media platforms, Arch. Florence Nyole has been elected President of the Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) for the next two years.

Florence, who has been serving as Vice President becomes the third woman to head the association after Emma Miloyo and Mugure Njendu. She takes over from Wilson Mugambi.

During her campaigns, Florence pitched her elaborate manifesto which revolved around making the premier association for building professionals even more impactful and collaborative.  She promised to deliver the advocacy-driven, member-centric AAK Strategic Plan 2023-2028.

Florence vowed to increase opportunities for meaningful engagement of professionals to tackle challenges in the built environment.

The Architect, who previously headed the East Africa Institute of Architects, practices at Ecospace Architects Limited.
