President Uhuru Kenyatta this week witnessed the groundbreaking for the construction of the Kenya Police Leadership Academy in Ngong, Kajiado County. The Academy, once complete within the next one year, will provide the National Police Service (NPS) with modern facilities for the training of its senior leadership.
The facilities include:
- Accommodation for 220
- Classrooms and lecture rooms
- A well-equipped auditorium with seating for 450
- Kitchen and dining facilities
- Sports and recreational facilities
The project is supported by the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) through a memorandum of understanding with the NPS. As part of this arrangement, CBK will build adequate accommodation for the police officers attached to CBK in Nairobi. CBK has finalized plans to build a modern gated community in Industrial Area with 210 units. This will permanently solve a long-standing problem and provide suitable living quarters for these officers and their families.
