Engineer Maurice Akech has secured another term at the helm of the National Construction Authority (NCA).
Announcing the decision of the Authority’s board, Vice Chairperson Mercy Okiro said: “Under the leadership of Eng. Maurice Akech, (NCA) has witnessed tremendous growth and development.” She cited some of the achievements as spearheading collaborations and partnerships among industry players, reviewing the Code of Conduct for the construction industry, developing the draft Construction Industry Policy and the draft Building Code 2023. Others were enhanced enforcement of construction laws, improvement of operation efficiency and repositioning of the NCA brand.
Eng. Akech’s new three-year term is effective 27th September. He will not be eligible for reappointment after serving the new term. The engineer joined the NCA as General Manager in charge of Research, Business Development and Capacity Building and rose to become Executive Director and Registrar of Contractors.
