Eng. Harrison Keter has officially taken over as President of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK), alongside the newly sworn-in IEK Council for the 2026–2028 term.
Keter was elected on August 3, 2026, after serving as IEK’s First Vice President. He succeeds Eng. Shammah Kiteme, who served as President from 2024 to 2026.
With more than 20 years of experience in the energy sector, Keter brings expertise in electromechanical engineering, project management and renewable energy technologies.
As he begins his tenure, Keter has pledged to strengthen the engineering profession’s role in shaping Kenya’s infrastructure and economic development.
The swearing-in of the new Council formally marks the beginning of the 2026–2028 IEK leadership term.
