The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has released status updates on the ongoing expansion of key roads in Nairobi.

KURA said that the much-anticipated dualling of the 3.2 km segment between Prof. Wangari Maathai Road (formerly Forest Road) and the Muthaiga Road junction was proceeding well and was currently at 44% completion. The Authority responsible for development, management and rehabilitation of major roads in urban areas of Kenya, said the ultimate aim was to expand the road all the way to Ruaka in a bid to enhance mobility.

KURA also said it had made significant progress with another strategic project that aims to seamlessly connect Limuru Road with the Northern Bypass via the United Nations Avenue. The 2.7 km link road is expected to ease traffic congestion within Gigiri and Runda areas and also enable pedestrians to move with ease. The project is at 51.6% completion.
