One of Kenya’s largest manufacturers of steel products is celebrating its Silver Jubilee. Accurate Steel Mills Limited (ACC), which is a subsidiary of Bhachu Industries Limited, is looking back with pride, having consistently supplied the fabrication and construction sectors over the years with high quality steel products from its plant located off Enterprise Road in Nairobi’s Industrial Area.
Among the products produced at the massive multi-mill industrial complex are deformed bars, round and square bars, hollow sections, mild steel angles, channels and I-Beams as well as black pipes and BRC, among others. The company will soon launch a new wire products division as the demand for these goods continues to grow.
Managing Director Avraj Bhachu attributes ACC’s success to the company’s commitment to quality and maintaining a calculated growth trajectory informed by market dynamics. Cultivating excellent customer relations has also been key, he says. At ACC, rigorous testing processes are in place to ensure that only quality products are delivered to the end users. The company has invested heavily in modern technology in both manufacturing and testing.
ACC has also shown unparalleled commitment to giving back to the society. In addition to hiring most of its workforce from the immediate neighbourhood, the company has been involved in several initiatives to support healthcare in the community. It has partnered with the National Government and local authorities to bring medical services closer to the people. Among its recent interventions was in the construction of Mukuru Level 3 Hospital where it offered substantial aid. The company has also been availing free medical grade oxygen to various hospitals, a service that was especially critical when Covid-19 was ravaging the country. ACC continues to offer free oxygen to date.
