Engineer Kung’u Ndung’u is the new Director General at the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA). The announcement was made by Transport CS James Macharia. In a statement, the CS said the appointment was effected on October 8.
He said the appointment follows a competitive recruitment process that was carried out by the authority’s board.
“Until his appointment, Eng. Kungu Ndungu was the Director, Road Assets and Corridor Management at Kenha,” Macharia said.
The CS added that Ndungu is well versed in various aspects of road engineering and road sector management in the country.
He takes over from Eng David Muchilwa has been acting in that position since the exit of Eng. Peter Mundinia whose tenure came to an end after serving two terms.
Engineer Ndung’u is expected to fast-track major ongoing and planned projects including the Nairobi Expressway, Kenol-Marua and Rironi-Mau Summit.
