A number of airlines have moved back to the newly upgraded international departure terminals 1B and C of the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport following the successful modernization project by the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA).
Lufthansa, Air India and Emirates are already departing from the new terminals.
Terminal 1C is the latest to reopen its doors, a few weeks after T1B started its operations. The upgrade project involved the refurbishment of the two departure halls at JKIA to improve check-in, security screening, retail and traveller lounge experience. Apart from Improving passenger experience, the renovations were also meant to position the airport as the preferred aviation hub in East Africa, says KAA.
